About us

Blood tests are available by an appointment system only.

If you arrive without an appointment, arrangements will be made for you to return at a later date.

Patients with a blood test request from their GP must attend their own GP surgery for their test to take place.

If your GP has requested a specialised test, we will need to know what the test is for, therefore your surgery must contact us first with the information.

Patients who are being monitored by the anticoagulation clinic will also need to attend their own GP surgery.

Blood tests for children

Children under the age of 16 will be seen by our phlebotomy team.

Children may be accompanied by one parent or guardian (please contact us if they need special assistance).

All children under the age of 16 will need their parent/guardian to book an appointment via email before attending.

Children under the age of three or those with complex needs will need to have their bloods undertaken with the Paediatric Department.

Children are now seen on Saturdays, unless there is a time-sensitive blood test that needs to be done during the week.
